Rheumatoid Factor IgM Test

Rheumatoid Factor Test or RF IgM Test checks for Rheumatoid Factor, a protein produced by your immune system that can attack healthy tissue in your body mistakenly identifying the tissue as "foreign".

High levels of RF in the blood indicate autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjogren’s Syndrome, early detection will avoid serious health complications.

While the biologic role of RF is not well understood, its presence is useful as an indicator of inflammatory and autoimmune activity.

Preparation: Fasting is not necessary for this test.
