C-Peptide is an aminoacid chain that is released when the pancreas produces insulin so it is an excellent marker for insulin levels produced by the body.
This test is not used to diagnose diabetes, but it can give an accurate reading to treat it, it also tells the difference between the insulin produced by your body and the one you take.
Preparation: It is best to be fasting for approximately 8 – 10 hours prior to lab collection (No food except water).
